DesignworksUSA also has design studios in Germany and Singapore.

DesignworksUSA was established in 1972 by Charles Pelly and in 1995 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW Group.

DesignworksUSA provides design and consulting services in the following areas: Product, Transportation, Automotive, Environmental and Interaction Design, Design Communication, Research, and Strategy, Sustainability Consulting, Creative Engineering, Color, Material, and Finish Design, 3D Visualization and Modeling

In 1986 DesignworksUSA received its first BMW project, the BMW 850 seat.

In 1988 the company began designing for Nokia, Compaq, Siemens and Adidas.

In 1993 DesignworksUSA started its first car exterior design project for the 1998 BMW 3 Series.

In 1999 Henrik Fisker was named President of DesignworksUSA.

DesignworksUSA currently serves as a creative partner for BMW Group, creating the BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Most recent clients include BAVARIA Yachts, Dornbracht, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Starbucks, Coca Cola, Boeing Business Jets, Embraer and Acer
